IUI is a simple and less invasive fertility procedure. In this method, healthy, motile sperm are collected, washed, and directly inserted into the woman’s uterus around the time of ovulation. This increases the chances of fertilization by placing the sperm closer to the egg. IUI is often recommended for couples with unexplained infertility, mild male factor infertility, or cervical issues.
